We’re excited to announce that fifth film in Chronicle Project’s Deidox series has been officially launched. It’s a story that we’ve been developing for quite some time, told from a point of view that western audiences rarely, if ever, get to experience.

Deidox | Li Yang is a personal story of how the gospel is spreading in China.

By purchasing the film Deidox | Li Yang you will not only be supporting Deidox, but a portion of the proceeds will go to China Aid. China Aid exists to advance religious freedom in China by exposing the abuses, encouraging the abused and equipping leaders on behalf of the persecuted church.

We continue to be pleased with the success of our first feature documentary Dear Francis.  This coming Saturday, March 28 at 12:30pm, the documentary will be screened at the Attic Film Fest in Austin, TX.  The film festival will be held at Grace Covenant Church.  Click here for Directions.

Dear Francis focuses on the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the African Kingdom of Swaziland, the world’s most HIV-infected nation as told through the eyes of two Texas college students.  The film recently aired on Showtime Television and has won several awards.

We are thrilled for the opportunity to screen the film at the Attic Film Fest.  The film festival is produced by the Grace Arts Project whose mission is to help educate, support, and empower Christian performance and visual artists of all ages in a Christ-centered learning environment. The purpose being so they can deliver Christ’s message through the tools of their art.

To help tell the story of this process, we produced a short documentary that follows Beatriz, a young single mother, as she transitions both physically and emotionally into her new home. This is a short in the ongoing “Stories from Skid Row” series that we do for LA’s Union Rescue MIssion.

Godtube has turned a new leaf changing everything from the intuitive new user-friendly design, to the sleek, eye-catching aesthetic; even the name is different- Tangle, remniscent of the John 15 and the reference to the “tangled vines.”

A conversation with Lauren Brock, Media Coordinator for Tangle.com, revealed a similar passion for quality that Deidox aspires to and Tangle is moving toward:

“We don’t want to be just a second-rate ‘Christian version’ of something that already exists … We don’t want to drive people away from YouTube or Facebook or anything like that, those things are great!”

But ultimately Tangle, like other social networks, seeks to provide a place where content can be shared by people with similar interests.

In our world, stories aren’t just orally transmitted like in the days of old. They aren’t just Jesus telling his disciples about a metaphorical farmer. It’s not a bad idea, and sometimes this is a great option. But in our world, stories can take you so close to a different life that you can feel it.

However you tell it, it’s important that you prioritize these stories so people can understand and believe that as humans, we’re capable of so much. Perhaps you need to use a story from Deidox or the ever-popular Nooma. Or it could be that you need the pastor to interview a member of your congregation about their time at the soup kitchen.

Think of Deidox… as short narrative-driven films featuring glimpses of the Kingdom at work in our midst. In other words, these are documentaries of the Missio Dei in action. Not only are they stories told through a great medium, but they display the power of the imagination when lead by God.

One thing we know about the 20-something generation is that they are moved by story and especially stories of God being active.  The days of ministry simple doing using apologetics and propositional truths to share their message are largely over.  If your church wants to reach out effectively to this generation this might be a great resource to check out and see how it might foster interaction and discussion.”
